The Valmeyer Public Library District in Valmeyer, Illinois, was established to support Valmeyer Community Unit School District No. 3 in providing access to materials and services for learning and knowledge to the students of that district. A secondary goal is to provide facilities and opportunities for life-long learning for the general public. The summer reading program is emphasized so that pre-schoolers can form the library habit, and school children can maintain their reading skills over the summer. The helpful, expert staff can provide quality service in an attractive environment, and the connection with Illinois Heartland Library System assures a network for sharing resources and technologies.
